Treat Yourself

There are two reasons why I'm telling you about this now. First, the new season of Parks and Recreation should have been released last week, and I was really excited, but they postponed it to I don't know when, and so I got kind of frustrated. As a result, I watched several best-of compiliations on YouTube and stumbled across this awesome concept and remembered: I used to do this! The second reason is because I haven't done it in a while and really don't know why.
Let me explain this to you really quickly. It is a way of showing appreciation to yourself, and can be done on a regular basis or just whenever you feel like you deserve or need it. It does not have to be expensive or huge things, just something you like. 




What is important to me is that you do this for yourself and that you can do whatever you think might help you feel better. About yourself or the situation you're in.
For example when you are in a bad mood. Just buy yourself that really nice cake you've been looking at in that cake shop's window. Why? Because it's gonna taste awesome and you are not gonna regret it. 
Something as simple as that can lift your spirits.
It gets even better if you do it with a friend. Introduce them to the concept and they will love it. And love you for telling them about it! The girl I used to live with and me for example would once a week buy ourselves some nice muffins or donuts just because we liked it. No matter what had happened (between us) the previous week or even that day, we would do this every week. It always made us happy and forget about any minor quarrel we might have had. 
It doesn't have to be food, of course. Or anything materialistic. Find something you like, and do that. Just for yourself, and nobody else.
